Week 1
We will try to post weekly information and photos on here as well as posting pictures on our Facebook page. If you have any further questions before next week please feel free to call Anthony @ 905-517-7961.

In the first week of First shift we learned about getting dressed for hockey, some for the first time.

Remember to arrive early and give yourself and your child a little bit of time to properly put on the equipment.  It will get easier to put it on and off the more often you do this. Here is a great article to help you with the order to put the equipment on.

It is a lot of equipment and it does usually take a bit of time for your child to get used to it.

You can even let them get used to getting dressed and also being in the equipment by dressing at home especially if they experienced any issues with this in the first week.

Also, some had socks that were not staying up. You can purchase clear sock/hockey tape at any store that sells sporting goods.

We learned that there are a lot of individuals out on the ice and all at different levels of progression. This is a great opportunity for the kids to grow no matter what stage they are at. We are very proud of all of them. It was a very busy first day and we thank everyone for their effort and patience on and off the ice.

Another note as well, public skating is a great idea in between weeks. Almost all arenas have public skating times during the week or weekends and encourages their interest and development. Some even have free events, such as the Dunnville Arena.
