Reminder - Return to Arena
Welcome back to another exciting, albeit different, hockey season. Wainfleet Minor Hockey Association was happy to see all the kids hit the ice over the weekend. We apologize for the delays in getting the season started. As you all know, nothing in 2020 has been "normal" or easy. I can assure you our board members have been working very hard in the background to ensure our kids all have the best season they can with all the changes and safety protocols in place.
There have been many new rules and procedures put in place for this season. The vast majority of these rules are dictated to us by the provincial government, OMHA/Hockey Canada and the Township of Wainfleet. We may not like some of the new rules anymore than the rest of you, but to ensure our kids will have minimal disruption to their season or individual ice times we must follow the rules we are given.
The cooperation of our players, parents, grandparents and everyone who enjoys minor hockey will make this year much easier on everyone involved.
Just a few reminders.
Please have your child come to the arena at least partially dressed in their equipment. We only have 15 minute change times before and after the scheduled ice time. This allows the arena staff the appropriate time to clean and disinfect properly.
Please make sure your child is wearing a mask while entering and exiting the arena. Masks should be worn until their helmet goes on and again after the helmet is removed.
The township has permitted spectators into the arena during practices and games. This is something that other municipalities have chosen to forego in the interests of safety.
Wainfleet has allowed for 1 spectator per child. We understand this causes issues with younger siblings, unfortunately, the alternative is to have zero spectators in the arena. I'm sure none of us want that to happen.
Please don't hesitate to bring any questions you may have to any of our board members.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated by all.
