Welcome to The First Shift Hockey Program
Hello to all our First Shift Participants,
We would like to welcome everyone to the wonderful world of
hockey and this amazing program sponsored by Wainfleet Minor Hockey, Canadian Tire and Hockey Canada.
The Welcome Event/Orientation will be on Tuesday October 25 at 6 p.m. at the Wainfleet Firefighters Hall in Wainfleet.
There will be an information session on how to properly put on the equipment. Afterwards each participant will have an expert fit their gear as they go around stations to collect all their equipment. It’s a great time to meet the coaches and ask any further questions you may have as well.
The sessions will start on November 5 at 1:00 at the Wainfleet Arena as we have to allow time for any equipment that had to be ordered to arrive.
Another block of sessions may be available in January dependent on registrations numbers. There will be a fee to cover ice time for the second set of sessions. There will be updates on this website as well. Please always check the schedule before coming each Saturday as it may change in unforeseen circumstances.
Mouth guards will not be included in your package and must be worn by participants on the ice. You can purchase a mouth guard; Option A: any sporting goods store or store that sells sporting goods (Canadian Tire, Sport Check, Source for Sports etc.) Option B: through your dentist, which is made from a mold of your teeth you will have to go in for 2 appointment’s. Please call your dentist for further information.
